Bukowski and the Myth of Perfectionism
There is usually a thin line that separates reality from delusion. This line is very similar to the one that separates perfection from imperfection.

I had a full blown kundalini awakening. Tremendous flash imagery beyond words for 2 hours whilst being propelled that what seemed faster than lightspeed through my third eye and feeling seeing the crowns thousand petalled lotus flower unfold petal by petal in full blown visual clarity. Amongst many other incredible things. Whilst in the ultimate blissful ecstatic rapture. If that is the permanent result of Ego death then I definitely would say it is worth it above anything you could ever experience or ever want in life.

When I was 18 I first learned to lucid dream and astral project, and it was Alan Watts that led me to that initially. He once said about LDing and OBEs in a book from Stephen LaBerge, “.. if I could do it all over again I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot barge pole.” I wonder if it was his ego that was speaking as lucid dreaming and astral projection helps you to find your real self and lose the ego. But the experience is sometimes overwhelming and requires much responsibility to let loose the ego to do that. And concerning Lucid Dreaming.. "When you learn to be a Witness and just see, then you are free."

CG gives you infinite tomes of knowledge and countless paradigm shifts for 50 years and then you go ahead and go against his wishes after all he's given you? I think people misunderstand the Ego. It is one of the finest parts of us and should not be discarded or ignored. What should be avoided are lies we tell ourselves or expect from others to feed our ego. Where we cannot bear to admit we can be wrong and to learn is where narcissism begins when we take the wrong road and confidence and enlightenment begins when we are brave enough to recognise our own humanity and need to keep learning. Ego is not the enemy. The incorrectly fed ego is.

You CAN let go of ego by dis-Identifying with your thoughts. We are NOT our thoughts. We are spirits (souls) with a body. Be the watcher of your thoughts and feelings. Then go deeper and be the watcher of the watcher. The spaciousness (consciousness) within each of us is our true self.

Good short video that gets to the point. The suggested solution to the problem is, however, not so good: 'Critical thinking and moral philosophy are not the most dominant part of our educational systems. Without the tools to question, to evaluate, and to dissect information, individuals are more susceptible to falling into their roles prescribed to them by an ethically blind society' (5:17). Very sorry, this sounds good but is contradicted by history. In, for example, educationally advanced societies such as the USA and Israel, pupils in school and students at university have traditionally been taught critical thinking, etc. This has not, however, prevented them from engaging in the most heinous crimes agaisnt humanity, and indeed, to abandon all morality because of economic, so-called national, and other interests, no different from the interests of societies that are more authoritarian. The whole point of Mdm Arendt's thesis is precisely that It is not society that is to blame but the individual, who in her master Heidegger's words does not live an 'authentic' life. And the claim that social-justice activism is a deterrent is also contradicted by the way it has transmogrified into a system of intolerance, forced conformism, and indeed a more dangerous form of banality of evil, since social media have brought it down to the grassroots. Thus, Mdm Arendt is wrong to evil comes from a failure to think, for the thinking that might prevent evil depends on morality. Not as something one learns in school but as something one sees in action.

Storytelling is the ability to create imaginary worlds characters and plots that are relatable. It can be inspired by reality or fiction. I am a poet and writer, I also am an artist. I like to combine my writing with my artwork by using my artwork as an inspiration for my writing. Poetry is my favorite subject because it can be short stories or long pages of ideas that can be vivid or abstract even obscure. Storytelling is like painting with words. I can help people imagine what it's like to be in another world by using my vocabulary. I have been writing for longer than 30 plus years so I have had time to improve my writing skills and learn new things to add to my writing. It's important to listen to others and pay attention to the environment around you and make notes to build mockup worlds in your mind, even sketching can help you imagine things. Read lots of books and different subjects to help you build plots that are relatable. I have read thousands of books and studied different subjects to learn more about reality and fantasy. Life is full of diversity and imagination. If you can learn how to bring it to life through language you can write novels and books. It takes time and practice.

I've been searching for something like this that only confirms my beliefs for most of my life. I got brainwashed by the system and the outside world in general when I was growing up but deep down inside, I felt empty, it had no real sense of purpose or meaning. Everything I learned didn't fit and so I began the search for my true self, something that resonated with my soul. Through finding that, I found true happiness, fulfillment and connection to the world.

  •  Місяць тому

The ego is the voice in your head that keeps telling you different little stories about everything. The story of who you are and who other people are. All the time, the ego is evaluating and judging itself and everyone else. And the ego reacts strongly to everything that is not the way the ego wants it to be. The ego reacts strongly if a negative uncomfortable feeling arises in the body. The ego will do anything to immediately experience pleasant feelings again, so the ego activates itself with something or puts something in the mouth for short-term satisfaction. The ego maniacally seeks validation from others so that the ego can feel that the ego is good enough. The ego gets its value through others' approval of the ego. The ego is a false self-image (a brand) that the ego polishes all the time and shows off to others how good the ego is. The ego stands for inner insecurity, lack of trust, envy, jealousy. separation, fears, conflicts and drama. The ego constantly lives in a fear of not being good enough.

The ego is an essential part of who you are, it's a satellite of the self. A sub-system, and your persona. It's necessary if you wish to function as a fully integrated being. You just don't let it rule the roost and convince you that that's all you are. Delete the ego entirely and you're on the path to a miserable journey if you're not truly ready for it. There's a reason why faiths have rules for layman, rules for initiates, and rules for monks and advanced practitioners. "If you can be talked out of yourself, you deserve to be" - Alan Watts
